The design process of Aseman Residential Complex in Pardis, Tehran began with a careful reading of the site’s topography — a terrain of steep slopes that initially appeared restrictive, yet gradually revealed itself as the project’s defining force.
In pursuit of a balance between density and human scale, the idea emerged to carve away part of the tower’s volume and let the subtracted masses settle along the hillside — as if the scattered villas around were fragments of the main body extending into the landscape.
This act of “subtraction for connection” lightened the tower’s lower levels, creating voids that became terraces and passages — spatial links that weave the tower and the terrain into a continuous whole.
At the heart of the complex lies a communal core — a void mediating between horizontal and vertical living, where collective and private life converge.
Thus, the tower rises from the earth, and the villas stretch across it — two expressions of a single architectural logic that meet and intertwine at the neighborhood’s center.
